the  forest  for  the  trees

FFTT's Philosophy:

Watch what they do, not what they say

“We saw an increasing siloing of perspectives where…. Along with an increased focus in both corporate America and Wall Street on the short term.

“Seemingly fewer providers took a step back to see the bigger picture.”

This phenomenon was seen front and center in the 2007-2008 financial crisis, when most public pronouncements by economists and analysts were that the subprime problem was “contained”, yet it was those investors that were able to see the “forest for the trees” that were able to best avoid and even prosper during that tumultuous time.

Through our willingness to take a step back to see the big picture, ask how consensus might be wrong, to look back in economic history for guidance and to objectively observe economic actors and events, we strive to help our customers to “see the forest for the trees” in an increasingly sound-bite driven investment landscape.
